A freak water skiing accident led to two broken bones in her left leg and nearly amputation. But after surgeons saved Linda Conklin's foot, the 57-year-old personal trainer and recreational marathon runner was determined to get back to living a fit life -- starting with walking.

Her physical therapist, Patrick Chapman, PT, MS, discusses the obstacles they faced in her treatment plans, and how they overcame each one in order get Conklin active and participating in the things she loves.

Linda Conklin is a 57-year-old personal trainer from Naperville, Illinois. A freak water skiing accident broke both her tibia and fibula, threatening an amputation and a possible end to her love of running. Partnered with her physical therapist, she persevered down the road to recovery and is running again.
Patrick Chapman, PT, MS, is a manual physical therapist and athletic trainer, with over 20 years of experience. He regularly teaches physical therapy programs at the University of Illinois, and has developed a golf analysis and training program through the Titleist Performance Institute.
