Rose Levonde Townsend, PT, DPT

I, Rose Townsend, am a physical therapist with a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from Marymount University, Arlington VA. I have held a license to provide physical therapy services in the District of Columbia since November 2004. As a pediatric physical therapist, I have dedicated my 17-year career to infants, children, and adolescents with diagnoses such as but not limited to: prematurity, developmental delay, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and autism. I have provided early intervention services to infants and toddlers and their parents or other caregivers in their homes, child development centers, and communities in accordance with their Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP), throughout my career. I also provide school-based physical therapy services to students in public charter schools in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEP). It is my mission to assist my pediatric clients, regardless of their diagnosis or disability, reach their maximum potential. In addition to providing direct physical therapy services with compassion, I am competent at conducting developmental assessments and physical therapy evaluations, documenting the findings in a comprehensive report, tailoring the oral presentation of the findings to suit the audience, and using the findings to develop measurable and obtainable IFSP outcomes or IEP goals that address the specific functional limitations of pediatric clients and the priorities of their families.
