Practice Description: My practice is primarily orthopedic with a strong interest in Pelvic Health. I have a manual therapy and pain science focus to my treatment. I am also Pilates certified through the Pilates Method Alliance. I have a special interest in cervical dystonia and work with the DySTonia Foundation. This year I have added telehealth to my practice. I teach exercise classes for people with Osteoporosis and modify my Pilates classes for bone health. I am Bone Fit certified through BHOF.

Michele Susan Townshend, PT, DPT

Mikki originally studied Sports Science at Liverpool Polytechnic, followed by a master’s in physical education from the University of Western Ontario in Canada. She attended Physical Therapy School at the University of Florida and completed her clinical doctorate at Rocky Mountain University in Utah. She is a Certified Orthopedic Specialist, Rehabilitation Certified Pilates Instructor (Polestar), Pilates Method Alliance Certified and a Master Instructor for Balanced Body. Mikki has been a clinician for 30 years and a Pilates teacher for 20 years at New Motion Physical Therapy and Studio Bainbridge Island in Washington State. Mikki has specialized in pain neuroscience, pelvic health, spine and osteoporosis. She has presented at Pilates on Tour, ISPI, NOI conference and the Dystonia Symposium.
