About
Matthew Sullivan, PT, DPT
I grew up in the Midwest and from an early age was active in high level sports and performance. Like many athletes, I had my fair share of injuries and nagging pains that limited my performance. Through these experiences, I learned the process and dedication it takes to return to a sport or any activity post injury and perform at a high level. My passion to help others overcome their own injuries and setbacks inspired me to pursue a career in physical therapy. I attended Kansas State University and received a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on muscle and microcirculation adaptations to exercise specifically related to the muscle metaboreflex. I then attended Regis University in Denver, CO where I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy and received the “Clinical Achievement” award upon graduation. After graduation, I was honored to be selected as a resident to a nationally recognized Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program through Evidence in Motion, where I was able to further distinguish my skillset in the physical therapy field. Today, I am a mentor to orthopedic residents through Evidence in Motion utilizing distance-based learning platforms and with other clinicians located all over the country. I am a Board Certified Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialist (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) and have advanced training and certifications in trigger point dry needling, blood flow restriction rehabilitation/performance training, advanced manual therapy techniques and sports medicine/performance training. My goal as a primary care musculoskeletal practitioner is to practice the latest evidenced based medicine by incorporating modern strength and conditioning techniques, pain science principles and educating my clients how to move through life without interruptions. When not in the clinic you will find me enjoying the wonderful downtown Santa Fe plaza and all of the amazing reProfessional Education
