About

Amy Leigh Phelps, PT, DPT

Amy was born and raised in a small town in Maine and knew from an early age that she was called to serve those in need. She received her BS in Liberal Arts with a minor in Psychology from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. She then went on to volunteer with Americore in an after-school program where she served as a reading tutor and assisted in running the government assisted snack program and with marketing. Amy entered Chapman University’s DPT program in California a year later and received a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy in 2005. She became a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) in 2010 and has achieved certification in women’s health through the American Physical Therapy Association. Through her struggles with changes in physical ability and the frustration of dealing with insurance companies that fall short of providing easy access to necessary care, Amy developed a unique perspective of compassion and understanding that makes her an effective and capable provider for people of all ages and abilities.

Amy received a clinic Doctorate from Chapman University in 2005 and has since specialized in Pelvic health, receiving CAPP-Pelvic certification through the APTA in 2016.
