Practice Description: Struthers Parkinson's Center specializes in the assessment and treatment of movement disorders resulting in gait, mobility, and balance dysfunction. As a PT at this clinic, I work alongside neurologists, OT's, nurses, social workers, researchers, and speech therapists to help rehabilitate the whole person for the long term. Parkinson's Disease, the most common movement disorder, is a treatable condition that responds very well to appropriate PT intervention, and this gives hope for the future.

About

Anne Marie Adix, PT, DPT

I have practiced PT in many settings over 20 years, but have increased my focus on neurology over time. I am also former adjunct faculty in a PTA program. I believe in giving the gift of tomorrow to yourself and to your family, and even in the setting of a movement disorder, Physical Therapy can help people find that. Working in an outpatient specialty clinic allows for community reach and outreach, and increased ability to help my patients focus on finding true wellness, not just avoiding ills.

Professional Education

I am a graduate of Luther College, and I earned my Master's in Physical Therapy from the Mayo School of Health Sciences. I am currently enrolled to complete my doctorate in PT at the College of St. Scholastica, and will receive my degree in 2022.

Additional Interests

I love being outside: kayaking, boating, golfing, skiing, biking, or snowshoeing, especially with my family. I enjoy both patient care and the educational side of my profession, and am fortunate to be both a teacher and a student of it.
